Biography
Violinist Jimin Kim received the Performance Excellence Award and Merit Award at Yewon School and Seoul Arts High School. After graduating from Seoul National University, she completed her master’s degree at The Juilliard School and is currently pursuing an M.M.A program at Yale University as a full scholarship recipient. Starting with the grand prize at the Korean Music Competition at the age of Seven, she won first place in numerous competitions, including the Hankook Ilbo, Music Association of Korea, Seoul National University of Education, Music Education News, Korea Herald, Nanpa, Overseas Dispatch, and New York Summit. She was early recognized as a “Musical Arts Prodigy” by the Kumho Foundation, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and the Korea National Institute for the Gifted in Arts, making her debut at the age of Thirteen with a Kumho Young Artist Recital. She has collaborated with the Seongnam Philharmonic Orchestra, Gangnam Symphony Orchestra, and the SNU Orchestra.
