Dallas International Violin Competition

The Dallas International Violin Competition is presented by the Dallas Chamber Symphony and held biennially in June.

The next festival and competition will be held as follows:

Application Deadline: December 15, 2024 at 11:59pm (central)
Competition Events in Dallas: June 11-17, 2025 in Dallas, TX

Performers who are interested in participating in the competition should review the guidelines before applying. The application and preliminary auditions are processed online though Acceptd.

Staff

Richard McKay, artistic director

Richard McKay is the music director of the Dallas Chamber Symphony and oversees artistic operations at the Dallas International Violin Competition. An established leader in the vibrant Dallas arts community, his recent performances have been hailed by critics as “spellbinding,” “finely paced,” and “perfectly shaped” (D Magazine and The Dallas Morning News).

He established the DIVC in 2021 to support emerging artists and the Dallas Chamber Symphony’s educational and outreach programs. He does not participate in the adjudication of the competition’s applicants or contestants.

Daniel Chilton, program manager

Daniel Chilton is the personnel manager of the Dallas Chamber Symphony and oversees administrative operations at the Dallas International Violin Competition.
